Depot Foundation Funds National Trust for Historic Preservation
Study at the Depot
The National Trust for Historic Preservation is conducting
a comprehensive study of the St. Louis County Heritage and Arts Center (the
Depot) through a joint funding arrangement between the Depot Foundation and
the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. The results of this study will provide
a vision and a plan to ensure a vibrant future for the Depot family and the
basis for the Depot Foundation’s planned capital campaign.
In anticipation of the upcoming capital campaign, the Depot Foundation has chosen
to conduct an in-depth study of the site’s usage, its role in the community,
its potential for attracting greater visitation from tourists and its future
structural needs. The result of this study will be a unified vision of the “highest
and best use” of the property.
The Depot Foundation sees the study as an important opportunity for the community
and the Depot family—the St. Louis County Heritage and Arts Center and
the four exhibiting and five performing arts nonprofit organizations it houses—to
work with national experts to plan for the future of the center. We invite you
to learn more about the PDI program on this Web site.
Would you like to get involved? We appreciate your interest in the future of
the Depot. Your comments and concerns are welcome. You may confidentially
direct your comments to info@DepotFoundation.org.
Thank you.
